IEA:  International Ergonomics Association

The International Ergonomics Association is the federation of ergonomics and human factors societies from around the world. The mission of IEA is to elaborate and advance ergonomics science and practice, and to improve the quality of life by expanding its scope of application and contribution to society.

The IEA is governed by a Council with representatives from the Federated societies. Day-to-day administration is performed by the Executive Committee that comprises the elected Officers and Chairs of the Standing Committees. The IES became a Federated Member of the IEA  (that means full voting rights etc.) at the IEA Council Meeting in August 1995.
